MLK service day

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The Mosaic Templars Cultural Center is challenging local teens to carry on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy with the MLK Challenge. This one day of service challenge encourages students to volunteer across central Arkansas.

Students between the ages of 12 to 18 can participate in this event. Early registration is highly recommended, which must be done by January 13 by signing up online: http://bit.ly/MLKchallengeMTCC. The service day event will be held on Monday, January 20 from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm. Volunteers will meet at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center museum and will then be assigned to various project sites around the city.

Peer mentors from City Year Little Rock will lead each site and talk to their teams about the value of what they are doing. 100 Black Men of Greater Little Rock is sponsoring lunch to provide boxed lunches for all volunteers.

Please note that some service sites may require physical or outdoor labor. All participants are advised to wear casual and comfortable attire appropriate for doing manual work.
